General Information

RoboLive® Visual is an Industry 4.0 solution for body-in-white production. It helps analyze robot programs by automatically extracting robot backups and visualizing all planned and actual weld positions in 3D, even when frame data is inaccurate.

By highlighting changes and detecting critical issues such as missing, misnamed, or mislocated welds, it enables all production personnel to verify integration or maintenance updates before production begins. RoboLive® Visual requires no additional hardware, and is available at a minimal initial investment.

RoboLive® Visual combines your product CAD models, nominal (planned) process data, and actual process data from robot backups. This allows for a close look at all process programming information, such as positions and parameters. All joining processes—welding, gluing, clinching, gap filler, and more—are viewable in the Client.

RoboLive® Visual introduces a fundamentally new approach that significantly reduces manual on-site tasks.

Rather than replacing existing systems, it enhances and streamlines essential workflows already in place. While version control tools and weld controller access exist, none can reliably track robot positions. RoboLive® Visual uniquely enables robust visualization of robot data, even when frame data is flawed, which is typically not even possible with modern PLM systems, let alone custom Excel-based solutions.

RoboLive® helps manufacturing professionals across the body shop throughout the entire lifecycle of a product. Typically, staff from maintenance, planning, and quality find the RoboLive® client to be a valuable tool for daily work.

RoboLive® was developed for use in automotive body shops, and has since been adopted by used in EV battery manufacturing, commercial trucks, and part suppliers.

Beginning with the Setup option is a great way to test the system, while also serving as the foundation to a full installation that can later be completed with purchase of an update method.

Select clients may be eligible for low-cost Sample Integrations that include a limited amount of data to prove the feasibility of the system.

The RoboLive® client is currently available in English, German, and Spanish. Custom translation work can be added to your installation on request.

Technical Details

RoboLive® supports all robot brands and joining processes technologies. The system is continuously adapted to meet specific requirements. Extensive experience exists with major OEM standards and leading robot brands such as KUKA, Fanuc, ABB, Yaskawa, and Comau.

Not necessarily. The RoboLive® Server can be manually fed with robot backups or can pull data from other sources if the robots are not connected to the network.

The installable Client is first configured by our engineers with your supplied product data, and a set of process data indicating the nominal production state (if available). New data representing the current, real state of programming is either automatically gathered by the RoboLive® Server, or integrated manually via the Serviced update method in cases where a Server can not be deployed.

No. RoboLive®’s unique data gathering system can take and integrate robot backups without any interference to ongoing production, and is not resource-intensive on the network.

Installation of the Server likewise does not interrupt production, and the customized Client can be easily installed on any Windows PC.

The amount of stored data is only limited by the available storage space. Since the datasets are highly compact, data can be retained and accessed over many years using minimal system resources.

New datasets representing the current robot programming state can be integrated at a custom frequency. Most users prefer to have updates before the start of each shift change, but the system can be configured to run more or less frequency depending on your needs.

Product Integration & Support

The implementation timeline depends on the project’s scope and complexity. In the past, full implementations including on-site Server commissioning have been completed within one month. Based on experience, the most common delays result from supplier listing, initial product data collection, and coordination with the IT department.

For both feasibility studies and RoboLive® Setup purchases, the initial data exchange will include CAD models of your products, a set of nominal data if available, and potentially an amount of historical backups. Additional information and instructions can be provided by your RoboLive® integration team.
We are standing by to assist you with using the RoboLive® client. Either contact your integration team for more information, or reach out to us via email or phone. Technical support hours and training sessions are included in most installation packages.
Customers using the RoboLive® Server as update method can update their nominal data themselves via the provided tools and VM access. For customers using RoboLive® Service for scheduled updates, Dressler Automation provides one free update per month.
